As you probably know by now, RCASoCal takes great pride in offering its James A. Nienow Memorial Scholarships every year!
In this day scholarships are needed more than ever. Since 1993 our scholarship program has awarded over $200,000 to family members of our member companies in support of their passions and dreams.
We look forward to awarding scholarships to immediate family members and employees of RCASoCal members in memory of the late James O. Nienow. Jim worked for Roofmaster for over 30 years and left a unique impact on the roofing industry.
We are excited to help as many deserving applicants as we can, depending on the success of our Annual Jim Nienow Golf Tournament on September 10 and our 1st Annual Clays for a Cause!
We look forward to the opportunity to help our member families and employees with their educational and professional dreams.
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Dick Radenbaugh, father of RCASoCal Member Bruce Radenbaugh of Biltwell Roofing (Los Angeles). We express our heartfelt condolences to the Radenbaugh family during this time.
What a run, Steve!

At our meeting on January 29, we presented a plaque to Steve in honor of all his years of work for the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California.
We know that most – if not all of you – have met Steve and gotten to know him over the years.
But just for the record… Here are ten quick facts you should know about Steve!
How it all started. As a teenager, Steve spent his summers in Downey, California, working construction and roofing jobs.

Early beginnings. At the ripe age of 22, Steve started his own roofing company.
A model for small businesses. Forty years later, Lang Roofing is still a thriving small business in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
Steve and RCASoCal. In 1995, Steve joined the Board of Directors for the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California. He has served in various capacities for almost 25 years!
Steve outside of the industry. Steve volunteers with his church and has spent a considerable amount of time working with youth in various mentoring programs.
A higher calling. Steve has served as a bishop in his area for over 15 years.
A family man. Steve has been married to his wife Cindy for over 35 years. They have three daughters and twelve grandchildren.
The great outdoors. He’s an avid golfer and surfer and loves being outdoors.
