What Has RCASoCal Done For Our Members Lately?

0a13e25c-ab75-4f6c-a19c-7b38c8de69e8Throughout 2016, our members enjoyed various educational and networking opportunities:

In February, we offered a course entitled One Goof, No Roof: Acrylic or Silicone for Single-Ply Enhancement?, where members learned about the advantages and disadvantages of acrylic and silicone products. Also in February, members had the opportunity to participate in a free webinar, Managing Your Vehicle Fleet to Key Performance Indicators (KPI): How and Why, which explored the different KPIs that fleet managers and business owners can oversee in order to improve their bottom line and increase employee productivity.

We provided owners with important information on making critical business decisions:

In October, Tax & Financial Group presented a class entitled Business Exit Strategies For You & Your Business, free to RCASoCal members. Members received crucial information on retirement and exit approaches.

We kept owners updated on state laws that impact them:

In late October, we offered a legislative meeting for owners, Labor and Employment Law Update, presented by Ryan McCortney, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP. Members received the latest on California labor and employment laws that affect businesses in the state. Members also learned about the workforce management tool, Exaktime!

RCASoCal members had the opportunity to take part in RCAC’s Annual Legislative Meeting in October in Corona. They learned about laws passed in 2016 and received insight into how those laws will impact businesses in 2017. Members also heard from EDD on important topics, such as the new e-file requirements for all employers with more than 10 employees, and more.

Members enjoyed opportunities to network with industry peers:

Our exclusive CertainTeed Plant Tour/Membership Meeting in May was a notable success. Members networked and enjoyed a 78d0aeed-a964-49a9-8b1c-d84ffec18d54tour of the CertainTeed Plant in Wilmington. They saw CertainTeed shingles from the Landmark line manufactured from start to finish and much more during this membership tour.

In July, Old Ranch Country Club hosted our July Trade Show & Dinner Meeting. Associate members displayed their products and roofing contractors had the opportunity to network, learn about vendor products, and more.

RCASoCal member employees received free dedicated safety training days:

RCASoCal members had the opportunity to take part in Southern California Safety Day this year (hosted by the Roofing Contractors Association of California) – free to all RCASoCal member employees. Member employees enjoyed specialized courses on CERTA, roofing safety, heat illness, ladder safety, and much more. It was a day focused on valuable seminars and critical training.
