What a run, Steve!

Steve, we cannot thank you enough for your years of tireless and passionate service to the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California.
We thank you for all that you have done, from your dedicated service as Vice President, to Chair of our Golf Committee/Tournament work, to your tremendous tenure as President.
Your countless hours of time. Your remarkable output of work. Your authentic outpouring of energy. Your heartfelt service. You have poured yourself into our association and we will forever be thankful.
At our meeting on January 29, we presented a plaque to Steve in honor of all his years of work for the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California.
We know that most – if not all of you – have met Steve and gotten to know him over the years.
But just for the record… Here are ten quick facts you should know about Steve!
How it all started. As a teenager, Steve spent his summers in Downey, California, working construction and roofing jobs.
One for the record books. At just 19 years of age, Steve passed the California contractor’s license exam, becoming the youngest B-1 general contractor in California.
Early beginnings. At the ripe age of 22, Steve started his own roofing company.
A model for small businesses. Forty years later, Lang Roofing is still a thriving small business in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
Steve and RCASoCal. In 1995, Steve joined the Board of Directors for the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California. He has served in various capacities for almost 25 years!
Steve outside of the industry. Steve volunteers with his church and has spent a considerable amount of time working with youth in various mentoring programs.
A higher calling. Steve has served as a bishop in his area for over 15 years.
A family man. Steve has been married to his wife Cindy for over 35 years. They have three daughters and twelve grandchildren.
The great outdoors. He’s an avid golfer and surfer and loves being outdoors.
Work and life ethic. If anyone knows Steve, there’s one thing they can tell you for sure: The man knows the value of hard work.
