Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an essential part of maintaining a safe work environment in the roofing industry.

Roofing workers are exposed to numerous hazards, including falls from elevated surfaces, falling objects, sharp materials, power tools, extreme weather conditions, and potential exposure to dust and other harmful substances. Proper PPE, such as hard hats, safety glasses, work gloves, high-visibility clothing, appropriate footwear, and properly selected fall protection equipment, helps reduce the risk of serious injuries.

PPE should always be selected based on the specific hazards present at the job site, inspected before each use, and properly maintained. While PPE is an important line of defense, it should be used in conjunction with proper training, safe work practices, and other required safety measures.

Consistent and proper use of PPE helps protect roofing workers and ensures that everyone can return home safely at the end of the workday.
