Project Re-Roof 2025

Association Updates,

Project Re-Roof is the Southern California roofing industry’s opportunity to give back to our communities by doing what we do best—making buildings safe and dry.

Established in 1989 with the re-roofing of a children’s home in Chino Hills, Project Re-Roof stands as a testament to what can be accomplished through collaboration. Recognized within the industry as RCASoCal’s annual contribution to the community, the project brings together manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors who generously donate materials and services.

Each year, a new site is selected, and RCASoCal members contribute both materials and labor to complete the project.

2025 Project: Hope Harbor Girls Home

The 2025 Project Re-Roof focused on Hope Harbor’s girls home, operated by OC Rescue Mission. This youth shelter, a fully privately funded organization, relies heavily on community support to meet its needs.

The facility required a new shingle roof. The existing roof was significantly worn, covering a large, steep structure with a small flat deck area—making the project especially challenging.

This project was brought forward by Mike Jimenez of Best Contracting in Gardena, a valued RCASoCal member. Mike and his team led the effort, handling project management and contributing substantial labor and materials.

Anaheim-based Superior Roof Systems partnered in the installation, helping share the workload.

Additional generous contributions included:

  • South Coast Shingle, which donated 45 squares of shingles
  • QXO (Gardena branch), which assisted with roof loading and supplied additional roofing materials
  • Western Colloid, which provided coatings to restore the flat roof section

The project was successfully completed in late December and celebrated with a thank-you luncheon in January.

Special Thanks

RCASoCal extends its sincere appreciation to:

  • Jimmy Killlen, South Coast Shingle
  • Mark Cura, QXO
  • Mike Jimenez and Team, Best Contracting
  • Bob and Team, Superior Roof Systems
  • Sam Dennis, Western Colloid
  • Marty Stout and Brian Hoyt, RCASoCal Board of Directors

We are always seeking charitable organizations in need and welcome all forms of support—materials, labor, or financial contributions.

Your continued dedication to giving back is what makes Project Re-Roof possible year after year.

Thank you to all past and future supporters.
